Look for the blue checkmark
Our family has been in cars since 1952. We started on Curaçao. In 1972 we came to Aruba. Today the third generation runs the company. My starting point never changed: clients buy from people they trust.
That trust was built face to face. A handshake in the showroom. A mechanic who knows your car and your name. A phone call when your vehicle is ready.
Much of that contact now starts online. A new model on our Facebook page. A question in our Instagram inbox. We love that. There is also a downside.
Fake is getting better
According to the U.S. Federal Trade Commission, people reported losing 2.1 billion dollars in 2025 to scams that started on social media. That is about eight times the 2020 figure.
Scammers have a new helper: AI. It can write convincing messages, create fake images and even clone a voice. The FTC warns that AI makes this kind of fraud easier and more convincing.
Cars get the same tricks. A copied photo. A price too good to be true. A deposit asked before you see the car. Aruba is no exception: Immigration Aruba once warned travelers about an unofficial website posing as the online ED card application.
What we do about it
We work on it from three sides.
First, our people. Every employee has been trained in cybersecurity. Staying safe online starts with people who know what to look out for.
Second, we use AI ourselves. As a tool, with our hands on the wheel. Technology is not the problem. Not knowing who you are dealing with is.
Third, our official identity online. That is where the blue checkmark comes in.
Why we became Meta Verified
Yrausquin is now Meta Verified. You will see a blue checkmark next to our name on Facebook and Instagram. Meta verified our business and confirmed that these accounts belong to Yrausquin. Meta also helps monitor for fake accounts pretending to be us. That is a service we pay for. Making our official accounts easy to recognize is worth money to us.
To be clear: the checkmark helps you recognize our official accounts. It does not make every offer online safe. That part we do together.
How to check it is really us

- Our only official accounts are facebook.com/YrausquinAruba and instagram.com/yrausquinaruba.
- We will never ask you to pay a deposit through a link in a private message.
- Not sure? Call +297 524 4444, WhatsApp +297 524 4480 or walk into our showroom at L.G. Smith Boulevard 112 in Oranjestad. We would rather answer one extra question than see one customer get scammed.
If another account uses our name and you do not see the badge, do not trust the offer. Contact us directly and report the page.
And we are hiring
In the end, trust comes from people. That is also why we are hiring two new colleagues.
First, a BDC Coordinator. Customers contact us all day about service, parts, body shop repairs and pick-ups. Each contact deserves a fast, friendly and correct answer. The BDC Coordinator is the calm voice that connects you to the right people, so nothing falls through the cracks.
Second, a Social Media & Marketing Coordinator. We know the direction we want to take. We need someone who enjoys turning that direction into action. Someone who walks into the workshop with a phone, captures a great moment, writes the post, answers your comments and learns from the numbers. This is a full-time in-house role for a colleague who becomes part of Yrausquin, not an agency job or a freelance project.
