It all started in 1952, when Ruben Efrain Yrausquin Sr., laid the foundation of the company in Curaçao. The first thing a driver would have noticed in those days was the lack of Ford vehicles on the road. The vision, skill, and passion that R.E. Yrausquin Sr. poured into the business, changed this marking the birth of the Ford brand in Curaçao. And for his vision, we salute him.
Transformations
Over the past seven decades, Yrausquin has undergone transformations as a family business and demonstrated a constant capacity to remain a benchmark throughout its history. Family businesses have been described as unusual business entities. This is due to their concern for the long-term over generations, their strong commitment to quality, and its relation to their own family name. But also their humanity in the workplace where the care and concern for employees are often likened to that of an extended family.

The heart of the company beats in Aruba since 1972 where Yrausquin has its showroom and operations. Even before establishing in Aruba, the desire for both the family and business to stay strong fostered clear strategies and decision-making by Ruben Yrausquin Sr. and his son Rubencito Yrausquin. The latter stayed in the position of leader for many years, until a life event triggered a change at the top. Then, the third generation of Yrausquins took over the business. In both the good and the bad times the company went through, the leaders had a clear vision of the future and were in charge of the strategy to get the company where it had to go.
